Bringing hope to a young generation
WELCOME TO
Who are school chappies and what do they do?
School chappies are highly skilled and compassionate people, who specialise in the prevention and support business. They equip and empower students as they find healthy ways to deal with issues such as family breakdown, loneliness, friendship and bullying, stress and anxiety. Chappies work in one of today's highest pressure environments - the schoolyard.
They provide a listening ear and a caring presence for young people in crisis, and those who just need a friend.
Our Chappies
Our chappies or school chaplains are compassionate and dedicated people who believe in the power of hearing stories and supporting others. They role model to the school community the incredible worth and value each person has, as a loved creation of God. Chappies promote an environment where everyone deserves to be heard and affirmed for the potential in life.
You can help!
Our work is made possible thanks, in part, to the Australian Federal and State governments, but also because of generous community members like you. You can make a difference today.
Your donation to school chaplaincy will be most welcome. Remember, all money remains locally in Gladstone region schools, and directly supports our young people and community.
You may also spot our coin cans around the Gladstone region when you go shopping. We appreciate our local businesses and the way they help us out by displaying the can on their counter, expertly organised by our coin can man, Rod Kamholtz.
Keep an eye out when you're out and about and throw some coins in!
